To install a heavy line post using our ground sleeve system, you will need a drive cap to create a safe surface on the sleeve so that you may pound it into the ground. Driving the ground sleeve into the ground directly could cause bending or breakage that could render the sleeve unusable--inserting a drive cap into the top of the sleeve will protect it, and make installation much easier. Drive caps will begin to flatten and "mushroom" with repeated use, so we recommend that you use 1 drive cap for every 21 heavy line posts. The 1 5/8 inch drive caps are compatible with our 1 5/8 inch sleeves for 4, 6, 7.5, and 8 foot deer fencing posts.

If you are driving the ground sleeves for the fence system, you will absolutely want this drive cap. It is heavy, machined cleanly, and drives the sleeves without distorting them.
