"The concept of building the gate is easy to understand, the instructions are not easy to understand however. Luckily you can call Customer Service and talk to a real person and they are very friendly and knowledgeable about the product and can answer your questions.
My problems: The sizes of the pole listed in the instructions were wrong and the ""Cat Safe Protection Bar"" described in the instructions made no sense. If you look at the pictures on the website you can't see the ""Cat Safe Protection Bar"" in any of the pictures. So you are kind of guessing how it gets installed. I will tell you it doesn't get installed in the ground. It sits on top of the ground and is clamped to the gate structure but isn't part of the structure. It's only purpose is to fill in any gap that may be caused on the hinge side of the gate. That is it. You may or may not need it. Other than that, the gate was pretty easy to install and works well."

"Gate is attractive and easy to install,
but had 2 issues:
1) Some poles were not the correct
lengths and had to be re-cut with a
bandsaw since they were too long.
2) If gate is not on a perfectly flat
surface, you will have to shim under
bottom pole next to ground with a
pressure-treated board to keep
cats from escaping underneath."
