Bird Control in the Garden

Posted by Jennifer Smith on 12th Sep 2016

Birds inhabit gardens in the warm, summer months before leaving their flock to travel South for the winter. Birds feed on fruit trees, lasting tomatoes and berries that may be laying around from summertime. Deerbusters.com recommends the following bird control strategies to protect organic gardens.

1) Heavy Duty Bird Netting

Bird nets are lightweight and affordable solutions to bird control. The black color of this heavy duty plastic material will help the netting maintain low visibility in gardens and will resist all-weather damage. Bird netting is easy to install and fits around fruit trees and shrubs.

2) Easy Net Tunnels

An Easy Net Tunnel will provide full coverage to protect plants from sun, wind, birds and small garden pests. The net, itself, provides shade so plants do not scorch in the hot months. They also conserves moisture, keeping plants hydrated for longer periods of time. Easy Net Tunnels are easy to set-up and use; and best of all, they fold nicely for storage.

3) Wildlife Netting

Widlife Neting is great for keeping away birds and other pests from gardens. It's easy to install and can be removed just as easily. To install, simply drape the wildlife netting over the plants and secure the netting with fabric pins or garden pegs.
