- deer attack people
Homeowners have no problem seeing deer on their properties; and if they know the difference between bucks and doe, they will most likely notice that female deer are out-and-about more so than male deer. What's the reason?
Doe are scouting for food while their young are hidden away from predatory animals. While we may not see fawns, doe remain close by in case they need to step in. Homeowners are advised to stay away from deer during late spring-early summer to avoid deer attacks. While rare, they do occur on people and pets if doe feel their young are in danger.
Do not feed deer. Do not approach fawns if found - they are not injured nor abandoned. Avoid does.
