Exercise Dogs This Summer

Posted by Jennifer Smith on 13th Jul 2018

Fact: 56% of dogs in the United States are classified as overweight or obese; and without strength-training exercises and fresh air, a dog will end up with health problems including arthritis and obesity.

A new study shows that the laziest dogs in the United States include:

  • English Bulldog
  • Shih Tzu
  • Chow Chow.
  • Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
  • Basset Hound
  • Pug
  • Miniature Pinscher
  • Boston Terrier

Dogs need time outside. They need socialization with other animals and bonding time with their owners. They need fresh air and sunlight. Dog parks may be out of reach; but this is why fencing in the backyard may be an option for homeowners. Fencing in dogs is a sure way that they will get the exercise and socialization they need to stay fit for many years. Strength training exercises for dogs can include running, jumping, and squatting. These exercises will create strong muscles in dogs and will serve them well as the dog ages.
