These 12 inch Kinked Galvanized Steel Deer Fence Stakes are used to secure the bottom of our deer fencing to the ground to prevent deer from crawling under the fence. We recommend the stakes be placed approximately every 5 feet along the bottom of your deer fence. These stakes work well for most ground types; however, for rocky soils and unusually hard terrain we recommend and offer 12 or 18 inch rebar stakes. We also offer these stakes in a 250 pack for those of you with larger fencing jobs.

I used the steaks to hold down a chain link fence so my dog did not crawl under fence. They did a great job but would like the top to be rough so they are easier to pound into the ground.

I liked the profile and diameter of the kinked stakes, they didn't deform when I pounded them into rocky soil. However, the exterior was so smooth and shiny that they were somewhat slippery and tended to want to pull out of the soil when holding mesh fencing under tension. The surface should have a tooth to it, like cold-dipped galvanized, for better pull resistance under vertical load.
