The golf industry brings an estimated $84 billion to U.S. revenue thanks to sales and tourism.

Golf season kicks off the month of April and does not end until November each year. This is great news for golfers who are looking to get outside and play a friendly round of golf on the greens. The problem that a lot of golfers encounter, however, is that they have unwanted spectators: deer.

Here's a news clip that shows deer fighting on the greens. Of course, nobody dares break up the fight; but couldn't this have been avoided? (Spoiler alert: yes, with deer fencing around the golf course perimeter.)

Golf course managers should invest in deer fencing beginning in the springtime for the safety of both players and spectators. Not only can deer charge players, if they feel threatened; but white-tailed deer will drop ticks on the landscape, creating a health concern that can potentially lead to Lyme Disease. 

The best height for deer fence should be at least 7.5' feet tall and either be made from plastic or steel construction. 

Golfers will appreciate having a fence around that keeps out wildlife while golf owners will enjoy a fence that blends in with the surroundings. After all, who would want to visit a lackluster golf course with ugly fencing, anyway?
